Joint and Tendon Pain – Natural Solutions
Pain in tendons is caused by irritation and inflammation. As the muscle tendon moves through the tendon sheath, friction from the inflammation causes irritation, otherwise known as tendonitis.
The most common cause of tendonitis is overuse, therefore rest is recommended. The inflammation needs to be addressed otherwise chronic issues will surface. Once the inflammation is dealt with, the pain will cease.
What can you do naturally to deal with joint pain and inflammation?
- Ice the tendons for 15-30 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day – 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off

- Turmeric and Omega-3 – Turmeric is a very powerful anti-inflammatory herb which has been used for thousands of years in ayervedic medicine. Combining with Omega-3s just enhances its effect.
- Castor oil wraps – Use cold pressed castor oil
on a cloth wrapped around the joints or tendons. Hold it in place for 30 minutes at a time using a tensor bandage.
How do you prevent joint pain in the first place? Stretch. Eat inflammation reducing foods, especially raw organic fruits and vegetables, and take high quality full spectrum supplements.
